Prices by horsepower and term
Prices are per engine and reflect purchase within the first 12 months of engine registration. Coverage begins the day your Mercury Limited Warranty expires, so you are buying additional years of protection, not overlapping ones.

How It Works
Three things about Platinum pricing
Longer terms cost less per year.
On a 300hp engine, 1 year runs $1,764.00 but 5 years runs $6,791.20, which is $1,358.24 per year. Each added year costs less than the one before it, which is why most buyers take the longest term their engine qualifies for.
Coverage is non-declining.
The plan does not shrink as it ages, there is no depreciation schedule, and nothing rebills. You pay once, the coverage runs to its end date, and it transfers to a new owner if you sell.
Total coverage caps at 8 years.
Factory warranty plus Product Protection cannot exceed 8 combined years, so available terms depend on your engine's factory coverage. The calculator handles that math automatically.
Late Enrollment
The surcharge for months 13 through 36
Mercury adds a one-time surcharge per engine when you enroll after your first year of ownership. Small next to the coverage, but real money, and one more reason enrolling early costs less.

Our price $6,791.20 plus the $225 late surcharge is $7,016.20. Still far below list, but $225 more than the same coverage cost in year one. Waiting has a price.

Two Clocks
Why prices rise, then disappear
Two different clocks run from your engine's registration date, and most owners only learn about the second one when it is too late.
The Two Clocks
- The price clock. Buy within the first 12 months and you pay the base rate. From month 13, the surcharge above applies.
- The eligibility clock. At month 36 after registration, the window to buy Mercury Product Protection closes permanently.
You can purchase Mercury Product Protection until 36 months after your engine's registration date, as long as your Mercury Limited Warranty is still active. After that window closes, this coverage can never be purchased for your engine.

Do these prices include the late enrollment surcharge?
No. If your engine was registered 13 to 36 months ago, Mercury adds a one-time surcharge per engine: $35 to $60 for engines under 75hp and $125 to $225 for engines 75hp and up, depending on timing. The tables above show both numbers so you can total your exact cost.
Is it cheaper to buy from my local dealer?
