In-line fuel filter 8M0090809 is for under-cowl installation on 65 hp through 115 hp EFI 4-stroke Mercury outboards, Jet and ProXS outboards (s/n 2B095049 and higher), 200 hp through 400 hp and the 400R L6 Verado (s/n 2B141224 and above) outboards, 150 hp EFI 4-stroke and ProXS (s/n 2B550139 and above) Mercury outboards, 175 hp through 300 hp and the 450R 3.4L V6 & 4.6L V8 4-stroke outboards (s/n 2B639482 and above). Replace the filter once each season or as your owner's manual recommends based on engine use. Prevents harmful debris that may be in the gasoline fuel tank from getting to the engine to rob it of power and efficiency. See your owner's manual or service manual for more information.
