Condenser 8M6001249 is specifically designed for your MerCruiser engine made by Ford or General motors having a Prestolite conventional ignition system. Condensers for other engines will not function the same or as efficiently and could damage other components. A condenser prevents arc damage across the ignition points and prolongs the discharge of electricity through the coil.
