Mercury Gen 1 vs Gen 2 Control Cables - How to tell them apart.
The end that goes to the motor is the same for both cables. Gen 1 cables have a barrel shaped stopper, gen 2 cables do not. If you have gen 1 cables and youd like to switch to gen 2, you will have to update your controls and cables both to gen 2.
