Mercury Avator 7.5e Now Available At PowerBoatSupply.com

PowerBoatSupply.com is proud to announce that we are now offering Mercury Marine’s new Avator 7.5e electric outboard motor. Featuring an all-in-one propulsion package that includes the motor, battery, and electronics, the Avator is designed for small watercraft that use transom-mount outboards.

The name “Avator” is a combination of “Advanced” and “Thor,” the latter being the name of the first outboard motor ever produced by Mercury. Just like that original model, Mercury Marine intends for the Avator to be just as revolutionary.

Zero Emissions, Responsive Controls, and a Whisper-Quiet Ride

Welcome to the sustainability era of motorboating! Thanks to the Avator’s innovative electric propulsion system, boaters for the first time can operate an engine with no exhaust fumes and zero direct emissions.

Built to the same exacting standards as other Mercury outboards, the Avator is an exceptionally quiet and smooth motor – which means that nothing will interfere with your immersion in nature and the peacefulness of being on the water. Explore to your heart’s content thanks to advanced lithium-ion batteries and a digital system that tracks charges and estimated range.

Intuitive tiller or remote controls are simple to use and highly responsive. With minimal maintenance required, the Avator lets you maximize your time on the water.

Mercury Avator electric outboard motors deliver 750 W at the prop, and come in both tiller and remote control configurations. The Avator electric tiller outboard model is designed to be highly portable, with features like a tiller handle that folds down to serve as a carrying handle and a mounting system that allows the outboard to easily latch onto the transom bracket.

The Avator electric remote control outboard motor, on the other hand, can be paired with three different control options designed to fit a variety of small boat helms.

All models of the Avator 7.5e outboard motor are powered by an interchangeable lithium-ion battery pack. These batteries can be easily swapped out even while out on the water, meaning that you don’t have to be limited to a single battery’s charge.

Additionally, the charger included with these batteries is compatible with any standard household outlet, meaning you won’t need any specialized equipment at home.

Efficiency and Power

The Avator outboard features a transverse flux motor. No, that’s not a sci-fi term, but an actual type of electric motor design that delivers incredible performance in a small package.

Transverse flux motors boast strong low-speed torque, are highly efficient, and do not require as much cooling as other types of electric motors, making them very light.

Because the transverse flux motor generates instant torque even at low RPM, the Avator uses a large three-blade prop that spins slower than others in its size category, but is more efficient and delivers better performance. All of these factors mean that the Avator can deliver speed and acceleration similar to a Mercury 3.5hp FourStroke outboard.

The Avator is a perfect match for small boats like micro skiffs, aluminum tillers, tenders, and even kayaks and canoes with the right transom.
